Historical Tour – The Statue of Juquinha, the Valley of Sucupira, the Ranch Cipó Velho and Zeca´s Grocery shop.
Our fist stop is the large statue in dedication to the hermit “Juquinha”, who has lived on the highest point of the sierra, selling orchids and flowers to the visitors.
The local market “Mercadinho” offers typical food, organic fruits anda lot of nice souvenirs and handcraft.
The Ranch “Cipó Velho” can tell the visitors a lot about the live in the 19. Century. It is the oldest ranch in the whole region, with a traditional kitchen, that is more than 3000 years old. The tour includes an inside view to the former school and the slave quarters, to a chapel from 1829 and a museum.
Our tour ends at the traditional Zeca´s grocery shop. Here you can find Minas cheese, sweets and handmade Cachaça.
